IntraWeb Synchronicity?
Submitted by arkiver on Tue, 2007-06-05 15:12. Arkiver's ReflectionsFor today's Arkiver's Reflections, I thought I'd just do a quick snapshot of some interesting tidbits around the intrawebs. Most of these are from Boingboing.net, but all should have at least a peripheral appeal for synchers, I think.

- If you're not familiar with the concept of machinima, it's basically using games (computer or console videogames) as the animation in original (or partially original) stories. BoingBoing featured a machinima called Tale from Midnight City, which uses the Second Life virtual world for its engine. The article references some resources that could potentially be of use to synchers too. Link
- Too funny video mashup of Boogie Nights: The Star Wars Edition. I think I found this via Kotke.org, but I can't remember now...
- Another YouTube video, this one's the History of Vietnam, via 70s Porn (although it doesn't use actual pornographic footage, apparently). I haven't actually watched this one yet, but it sounds hilarious. Found via Boingboing.net....
- On the future of tv and media, I found this great posting on a TV Viewer's Bill of Rights via NewTeeVee. The original TVBoR article that started this whole thread can be found here. I'm probably biased, but I did a lot of "hell yeah" and "right on" when reading these. They also dovetail pretty well with some of the Henry Jenkins material I've been reading lately.
- And what would this be without a little copyright goodness? So here's Cory Doctorow of BoingBoing, sounding off on copyright at Google. Interesting video, as always.
Enjoy!!
peace,
