Wish You Were Blade Runner
The Ingredients
![]() | Audio: Wish you Were Here by Pink Floyd 1975, Capital Records |
| Video: Blade Runner 1982, Warner Brothers, based on the book Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? by Philip K. Dick | |
The Setup
- Blade Runner is a classic cult sci-fi film, with a wild futuristic visually intense plot. Wish You Were Here is a stunning abstract art rock album. The two together make a very good combination, Floyd's slow instrumentals and the futuristic cityscapes of Blade Runner.

To set this synch up, put in the CD of Wish You Were Here and pause it. Then put in the director's cut (it has to be the director's cut) of Blade Runner. After the "Green Tree" logo comes up, wait for the "Jerry Perenchio and Bud Yorkin Present" screen to come up. Unpause Wish You Were Here at this point. Then just sit back and enjoy the show.
The Source
- This synchronicity was discovered by Jeff Pearson, who has a web page on it. Having tried it myself, I thought it was strong enough to warrant inclusion as a regular part of the Arkive.
The Evidence
- This synchronicity is one of those that is just fun to enjoy, without worrying too much about whether or not it was intentional. It illustrates pretty well what a great pattern finder the human mind is, and it also allows a great sense of participation in the experience. It's everything a good synch should be.
