March Featured Synch...

Synchronicity Discussion

Seeing as how March is coming up in the very near future, I wanted to open up "nominations" for the featured synch spot. I'd like to get at least a couple people to buy in to whatever choice ends up making the cut, maybe even run it through a poll to see which one should be it...

So, anyone want to kick out an idea for next month's?

Thanks.

old arkive

Leighton,

I'm slowly re-adding the stuff from the old Arkive, it's popping into Synch DB 2.0. When there are ones being considered for the featured, I move those up in my list of re-adds. So, I think I'd made it through about 10-12-2002 in my restoring, but Rachel2's Nine Inch Ring was from some time in 2003. I skipped ahead to add that one, and then went back to re-adding chronologically.

Granted, that's not the most efficient way, but it's the only way that I: a) clean up those old entries, b) ensure that the text of those entries will come up in the searches run via the drupal code engine.

So... it does actually take me a while to load those entries, so if you had to pick one or two of your list, which would they be?

well i really like all of

well i really like all of them but not sure how many of you have the same albums as me but i'll go for:

"Yoshimi Battles The Terminator Too."

which is the combination of the critically acclaimed 2002 Flaming Lips album 'yoshmi battles the pink robots' with the action packed last 30 minutes or so of 'Terminator 2'

Well...

There weren't that many votes really, but still Rachel2's Nine Inch Ring took the prize. El Giron, I'll use yours for the April featured, since you were pretty much neck and neck. I'll have another poll then for the May featured, and I'll include Thirdeye's in that poll, along with any other ideas people have between now and then (and I'll probably solicit ideas again when we get closer, or they can always be posted in this thread).

poll coming soon...

I'll have a poll up with the ones mentioned here so far later this weekend, and that one will be a limited poll (as in it will expire), with the winner then being next month's featured. So, if there are any further nominations, they can be entered in this thread or sent to me via private message.

The Nine Inch Ring/Fragile Ring

I second the "The Nine Inch Ring/Fragile Ring" by Rachel. It is very good all the way.

Is this your older version or the newer version of yours that another syncher improved?

This is a 2 disc synch and I found it very emotionally draining. The music and movie mix enhances the scariness. You need a print out of the lyrics to follow along sometimes but the music does just fine.

Here's my nomination...

I'd like to nominate a little concoction of my own using Disney's Fantasia and Tool's Salival album...This is by far the most beautiful sync I have ever seen, and the only one I've ever found on my own...well, I did have some help. For the recipe and the story behind it, check out my blog on MySpace: http://blog.myspace.com/soulstrummer
I also noticed some coincidences between the movie and a Carlos Castaneda DVD I happen to have, so I've decided to name it Salvasia: Synchronicity of a Sorceror...Check it out!
BTW, I haven't been on the site in a long time, what happened to the old sync database where you could pick an album, artist, and movie from the pull-down menus? That was the shiznit...

My nomination, says I

I would love it if my very own "The Last MA#n On Earth (Slow InF#inity)" synch got a little exposure. I must admit, it is rather slow, but you must see it to believe it!
