also just got

'at war with the mystics' by the flaming lips

i know theres an idea to try it with the original Star Wars
wonder what else it might go with?

Sorry, Leighton

I do not own anything by any of the artists you list. Most of them I never heard of. My local radio stations do not diversify their play list. Thanks for bringing me out of my little shell by mentioning the above artists.

What kind of stuff are you

What kind of stuff are you into and if you like ill see if i can suggest some realted albums/artists that might appeal to your taste?

What is a blind person's favoite color?

I never understood Kate Bush's music. Is there an album of hers you would recommend for beginners? I cannot spend much so I have to choose wisely.

hmm not really...

this album (aerials) is the only one ive heard - and i nicked it off my dad. but its quite nice - its a double album and was well recieved by critics.

some quite unusual lyrics and good music - especially on the 1st cd.

sufjan stevens - illinoise

maybe with the film Chicago - again i dont have this film but it has a track called Chicago and would seem quite suited to a musical...??

nice ideas

pity i dont have either of those films -

Do you have 'Agaetis Byrjun' by Sigur Ros?
I have a cool sync for that with the climax of Close Encounters of the Third Kind.

I would like to get Kill Bill 1 for synching though, always thought the visuals would go well with something.

I did try Electric Ladyland from the start of Matrix:Reloaded once and the first few tracks worked very nicely but this didnt carry on...

Von & Jimi

As for Sigur Ros-Von, I tried this recently with THE MAN WHO FELL TO EARTH and got nice results.
Although I forgot that the last track is like 7 minutes of silence before some final music appears. My advice would be to skip the last track and repeat the album (Starting from the opening credits, the album should first end around the scene when The alien is first surrounded by his televisions at his lake home)

I remember submitting Kill Bill vol. 1/"Are your Experienced?" on the old site. But what I used was the '93 re-release which had a different playlist. You know you're off to a good start when the first track, "Hey Joe" describes what's happening to "The Bride" in the opening scene.
FYI, the tracklist on this version:

1.Hey Joe
2.Stone Free
3.Purple Haze
4.51st Anniversary
5.The wind cries Mary
6.Highway Chile
7.Foxy Lady
8.Manic Depression
9.Red House
10.Can you see me
11.Love or Confusion
12.I don't live today
13.May this be love
14.Fire
15.Third Stone from the Sun
16.Remember
17.Are you experienced?

Using that list, if you start the CD as soon as "An old Klingon proverb" appears on the screen, you're bound to see/hear some interesting stuff!

I haven't tried the album on repeat yet, but I'd most likely want to do another re-arranging of the playlist once The Bride fights the Crazy 88 set to "Fire" and "Third Stone from the Sun". I'll probably get to work on that later on.

Pi

i wish i had the film 'Pi' as theres a song on the Kate Bush album that cries out for you to start the film and the album from that song together. Lyrics;

"Sweet and gentle sensitive man
With an obsessive nature and deep fascination
For numbers
And a complete infatuation with the calculation
Of PI

Oh he love, he love, he love
He does love his numbers
And they run, they run, they run him
In a great big circle
In a circle of infinity

3.1415926535 897932
3846 264 338 3279

Oh he love, he love, he love
He does love his numbers
And they run, they run, they run him
In a great big circle
In a circle of infinity
But he must, he must, he must
Put a number to it

50288419 716939937510
582319749 44 59230781
6406286208 821 4808651 32

Oh he love, he love, he love
He does love his numbers
And they run, they run, they run him
In a great big circle
In a circle of infinity
