Alice in LOVE?

Share Your Synchs

I saw the Disney version of Alice in Wonderland the other day, and it got me thinking that it might be a good film to synch the new Beatles album LOVE too.

The first song starts quietly with tweeting birds which matches the first scene after the initial credits...

any takers?

Witches Wonderland!

Album: King Diamond's greatest hits

This is one I came up on by accident. I looked at both the movie and cd time and they were exactly the same. Start the cd as soon as the movie begins and it will sync up perfectly. Every high pitched note king diamond sings either syncs up in an action or dialog of the characters, giving you one of the most fucked up and darkest version of Wonderland ever!

1999 TV alice?

any synchs for this one?

its the Hallmark live action 1999 Alice film.
came free in one of the Saturday papers.

any existing synchs out there?

or should i try the wall, magical mystery tour and love...

Alice

Perhaps you could try Jan Svanmajer's stop-motion film "alice" for a new synch...it's very strange and surreal.
don't shoot-i am a man

alice alice

yeah i have that on DVD - havent been able to get anything to work as yet. i was trying the Tom Waits album 'Alice' as its inspired by the same girl that inspired the books and has a similar mood to the film.

As much as I hate to say it,

As much as I hate to say it, I've pretty much given up on finding the perfect Beatles album/movie sync. Nothing yet has been found to match Dark Side of Oz and Alice On The Wall.

really?

its still fun to look for/try others suggestions for new synchs though.

True. I've wanted to find

True. I've wanted to find the perfect Alice/Beatles combo, since the Beatles were such Alice fans and were heavily inspired by it. I've managed to find one that works for the first 17 minutes using Magical Mystery Tour, but have been stuck on where to go from there.

I'll make a thread on that one, see if anyone has any suggestions, because I'm stuck.

Heavy On The Cheese

I fooling around with a possible synch using (ultra cheesy film) Josie & The Pussycats with the Bee Gees/Frampton soundtrack to Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band. So far...so good. Hey...I just had to admit that. Smiling

mmmmm...cheese

That's a pretty cool angle to take there, J. Mixing cheese with cheese. Smiling My own admission is that I actually saw the Sgt. Peppers flick 3 times on it's initial theater run back in '78. What can I say...I was 13.

Was that you Bytor?

WOOOOOoooooow!......I saw it too man. I thought I was the only one. I got hit with a milkdud & Alice Cooper (Because) scared the hell out of me! I was maybe 9 or 10....old man. Eye-wink I hate to admit this but I also have the film on dvd. I'll line up to be slapped. You have a pm btw.

Dark Side of Alice?

Just read this online - anyone tried it?

"Suprisingly, nobody has mentioned “Alice In Wonderland” and Pink Floyd’s “Dark Side Of Moon”. Has anybody tried this? It’s much better that Floyd and “The Wizard Of Oz”. If anybodys’ looking to check for themselves, just press play on “Dark Side” as soon as Alice touches the water in pond after seeing her reflection. Guaranteed good times."

The Beatles...LOVE cd

I got this as a "stocking stuffer" & it is truly amazing. When I first heard about the project I thought it was going to be another best of...but when I learned George Martin & his son were at the reigns (working with the creators of Circus Solei), I knew something cool was on the horizon. When I gave it a listen, my senses where pleasently overtaken by what I heard. During one song...I could point out 5 different Beatles compositions & the highlight for me is the Benefit for Mr Kite > She's So Heavy mix. Its beautifully sinister & brilliant. Its worth the hype & given the condition of the current stagnant musical climate.....god bless the Beatles & producers like Sir George Martin. Plus the sync possibilities for this album are already apparent. CHEERS!

another good album...

After seeing a few comments here and there on the forum about this new Beatles' album, I also picked it up. I got the version with the extra DVD-Audio version, along with the CD version. Both are quite good. It's different certainly... but the same.

I'd add my thumbs up rec on this one to Jaydingo's.

that little synchy voice I mention in tonight's Arkiver Reflection (Sharing Donnie Darko) said this thread was telling me I should check out that new Beatles album... so I picked it up. But I haven't listened to it yet... Eye-wink

Its a great album, and the more into the beatles you are the more you'll get out of it cos you'll be able to pick out all the different parts.

"LOVE"

I've been wanting to hear the new "LOVE" album since I read about George Martin's mixing on it and how it all "flows". haven't gotten myself a copy though. Sounds like a good synch though! Good luck!

*bang* I'm dead.

tried it...

I started just after the opening credits end.
It started off well lyrically and musically ("because the sky is blue" when Alice is lying on her back looking at the blue sky) and worked for the first 4 tracks, after that is wasnt so good.
I think changing the track order so 'I am the walrus' plays during the Carpenter and the Walrus part would be good.

So maybe 1 2 3 4 6 7 5....

im not sure how it would go after that - its a shame to change the track order with this cd as its designed to flow all together but theres potential here....
