Invitation to participate...

Synchronicity Discussion

Would anyone be interested in participating in the idea of a "bake your own" podcast episode? The idea being that, as a way of opening the Arkive to some different kinds of participation, that you'd record a podcast, say around 20 minutes total, of something semi-synch related, as a sort of "guest host" for a future episode of Arkiving Synchronicity.

Obviously I'd probably need to think of some actual parameters, this is just off the top of my head... but the idea just occurred to me, in light of some of the recent discussion, and would also maybe open things up a little bit to some different viewpoints?

Thoughts?

easy-bake podcast

Creating a successful podcast is alot harder than you make it seem! You have put quite a bit of thought into the questions, and I guess that is rule #1 if your podcast is to keep your listeners attention. You also have a really good interview style, flowing along with the conversation and staying on topic. At any rate, here is a list of stock questions assembled from the Arkiving synchronicity podcasts. This could be a good starting point for anyone tackling the job of putting together a synch-related podcast...

1.How did you first discover the synching community, and what was your first "synchronicity" experience?

2.Which of your own synchronicities would you call your favorite? Are there any you are particularly proud of, or do you think they stand on their own?

3.obviously Pink Floyd is big on everyone's list, but I'd be curious to know what other artists might stand out for you, because of the influence of synching? Any particular favorites? Are there any films that synching introduced you to, that you wouldn't necessarily have had contact with?

4.So, what's your feeling on the current state of synching, as a community and as a hobby?

5.Is there any “must have” feature for you, interactively speaking, that the Arkive currently lacks, that you’d like to see? Or are there any other new directions or items you’d like to see become a larger part of the website itself, or even the community itself?

6.as a member of the community, do you find my constant “attention” to the copyright issue helpful or more of a distraction from synching in general?

7.Other than copyright, are there any other issues that you think the community faces? Obviously, as the recent mention of the hobby on the Mercury News site demonstrated, the hobby itself is still regularly dismissed as “a stoner waste of time” by many. Do you think that perception handicaps a more “in-depth” understanding of the art of audiovisual synching?

8.how would you say that synching affects the rest of your life?

9.Are there any other over-riding philosophical, psychological or other concerns that you find that synching addresses somehow? If someone “on the street” were to ask you, what synching means, how would you respond?

10.what lessons or ideas would you want to share with someone new to the idea of synching, about how to approach this hobby? This community?

11.Is there anything about that “road ahead” for the synching community that you foresee?

12.What led you to create a site for your projects? Any standout experiences in having your own site?

13.How have people, outside of the synching community, generally reacted to your own various synching projects? I guess I’m thinking here of any friends/acquaintances you may shown them to yourself, as well as any feedback you may have gotten from the “world at large” from having your site up. Mostly just outside of the synching discussion boards, what do people generally think of what you’ve created, or at least, what do they tell you they think?

14.From your overall experiences in the community, do you have any favorite synchs that other folks have done?

15.Alot of the community seems to involve sharing influences, in both music and movies. What influences have people turned you onto, in either media? And what influences would you perhaps like to turn others into the community onto?
