DECODING LIFE'S SECRET MESSAGES

Community (Open)

This may be a bit off-topic for this site, but it's so closely related (in my opinion) to what goes on here, that I figured I would toss it in anyways...

A friend of mine on MySpace recently brought my attention to a very interesting video about synchronicity on YouTube:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g_zNWT5Q6mA

Of course, this is quite a different context of the word "sychronicity" from what we discuss on this website, but I think we should keep our eyes open to the possibility that these two types of synchronicity can sometimes intersect and become one and the same...That's what synchronicity does, after all. I have this type of synchronicity occurring in my life for about the past 4 years now...And many, if not all, of the synchs that I have submitted to this site have had some seemingly impossible involvement in the Jungian form of synchronicity in my life.

My first introduction to the whole concept actually came from David Wilcock's DIVINE COSMOS website...In some of his rightings, he mentions that he began his work channelling messages from an entity called Ra (which he believes is his higher self) when he began to notice something he read about called the Dream Voice...

Do you ever pay attention to the quiet thoughts and voices in the background of your mind when waking up in the morning, or while you're starting to fall asleep? Some of them can seem like your own conscious thoughts, but you may notice that they seem completely unrelated to anything that was on your mind, or they may refer to things that you know nothing about. These messages, which seem to be planted in our subconscious and released during certain key moments throughout the day, may very well be coming from some more evolved, nonphysical sources...

By paying attention to this, I've caught random bits of sentences and phrases many times that have given me previews of things that would later happen to me throughout the day, or advised me to investigate certain things or pay attention to certain clues...Sometimes the whole world around me seems to be slightly altered, during which times I think these sources have actually manifested things to get my attention. I've kept a very interesting journal of some of these events and coincidences and written about them in my blogs on MySpace, particularly one incident where I thought I had gone completely insane for 3 days, because I just couldn't accept what was happening...

If you have a problem accepting any of this, then let me pose an interesting question: Having experimented with astral projection/out-of-body experiences and lucid dreaming for some time, something occurred to me one day...Normally we go through our dreams sort of sleepwalking, with very little control over what happens, and not comprehending much of it. But when you become lucid in a dream, everything suddenly seems as real as everyday life, except you can control EVERYTHING...So my question is...

When you're NOT controlling your dreams...WHAT IS?
Who is this invisible auto-pilot that rearranges our memories and fantasies into these bizarre bedtime adventures? Ditto for some psychedelic experiences...

Team? What team? There's a team now?

Five questions. When are try-outs? Are there cheerleaders? Do we get cool uniforms? Will there be a pizza party at chuck-e cheese after games? And, lastly, do I need a permission slip from my mommy to join?

Seriously, I feel much better about my attempts to help shape the arkive into an even better place when I hear this sort of adolescent chatter. Keep up the good work, Arkiver, and let me know if I can help with anything.

No change.

To the person or persons known as O (and just so everyone else knows exactly where the Arkive stands on this)...

I welcome any other sites out there promoting synching, as well as different takes on the hobby. If you do ever create this mythical site you like to talk about, by all means, submit it to the Arkive and I'll add it to the list of sites out there for synching.

However, again the reason for you being banned from the Arkive was your tone, and the way you treat others in this hobby, and it's quite clear from the anonymous postings attempts you've made that you have not changed a bit to date. If you are ever truly interested in engaging with the community, instead of building yourself up or tearing others down, then you're welcome to come back. But until then... grow up already. I have better things to do with my time, as does the community, than suffer through another one of your long-winded rants.

And so... in the words of Forrest Gump... "that's all I have to say about that."

O Hi O

Hi O,

I remember you talking about having a syncher site that would be very interactive and usable. I imagine it is much work.

Free Will?

In the above posted video, even though the speaker claims that the individual has free will, in his described scenario free will would be in all practical respects non-existent. If you any "choice" that you make would be resisted by the universe/god/whatever until you made a choice that it wanted you to make.

THE ONE AND INFINITE CREATOR

Free will is the first distortion of our existence, but we do have a good amount of free will and decision-making ability within the game of life. Just because we may see some "signs" pointing us in a different direction doesn't mean we have no choice but to go that way. We do have the free will to screw things up if we want, and learn from that as well. But no matter what plays out during our countless life stories, the beginning and the eventual outcome will always be the same: ONE-NESS. It's the breathing of the universe. We expand outward until we forget who we are, then when certain life situations arise which cause us to question our origins, the countless invisible beings around us respond by putting things in our life experience that may help bring us closer to the answer, should we choose to continue following it...It starts a chain reaction which inevitably leads us back to the center, to the memory that we are all that same original spark of divinity. Many have said that the path of enlightenment is a path of remembrance...But depending on the choices we make, it may take some people longer than others.

contradiction...

that free will question seems to me to have a certain amount of structural similarity to the contradictory idea about an omnipotent god... the one that goes is god all-powerful enough to create a rock that even he can't move? If he can't, then he's not all-powerful, but if he can, he isn't either, because he can't move that rock now.

Bottom line, I think it just really highlights that all of our models and ways of thinking about the universe and god and free will, all of that stuff (incl. mystical synchronicity) contain contradictions built in. That's led me to pretty much laugh at any absolutist position because they seem to back into those corners and then get stuck trying to get out. At least a relativist position allows a certain amount of flexibility of approach.

I also find that that whole idea, the one that started this thread about synchronicity, is a bit too... top-down of a model for my taste. I referenced it a couple times in Karl's and my podcast discussions, I tend to prefer a "bottom-up" model, although it's probably more of a hybrid (with the majority bottom-up, some slight top-down, in a control-feedback loop). And I guess that's where I myself tend to have issues with the "universe intentional" model that GG seems to be pitching with the start of this post (apologies if I'm reading too much into that). I just don't see it as a conscious process, at least in the way that we understand (or don't understand) our own consciousness. Maybe a collective unconscious, somehow manifesting the synchronicity... that I can buy... but that collective somehow saying to itself, I'll throw this out there, that's what I find breaks down, for me at least.

Simple Solution.

It seems to me that an all-powerful creator could simply CHOOSE not to be able to move the rock. And then at another time he could choose to be able to do so.

But this whole argument is pretty pointless to begin with, because ANYTHING YOU SAY ABOUT THE CREATOR IS FALSE...Once you begin TALKING about it, you're NO LONGER TALKING ABOUT IT. Higher densities of existence go into areas where words are not sufficient to describe anything.

In the world of shamans, contradicitions are all that exist.

Imagine a reverse-Big Bang: All the seeming opposites would blend into each other and contradicitions would meet and cancel each other out. Just in the same way that science and religion first appeared to be two polar opposites, but now we're beginning to see that they are actually coming to the same conclusions...

R_Sammy's picture

bottom up v. top down

I suppose the collective unconscious model is somewhat more compatible with the the idea of individual choice and free will than some sort of divine destiny. I have a Jung book around here somewhere that I've been meaning to explore...

P.s. all of this thinking about free will has bought me to one conclusion. The title Free Willy is some sort of clumsy reference to free will. wierd

"I can create an entire composition with a wave of my hand. It's incredibly fun, but unfortunately it's hard to remember the music, and the sounds quickly fade from memory as I wake up and try to run to my recording equipment!"

This is what why they say, "It made sense in the dream."

I actually dreamt about a music movie synch once. I had already done it in waking life and was just replaying it in my sleep for fun.

Sometimes when I realize I am in a dream, I can change the events in the dream to my favor. Ussually, this is when I begin to fly above the tree tops like a bird.

Rock 'N" Roll Dream

I do not think your brian shuts off just because you are asleep.

I speculate that certain areas control your brain while awake, but then other areas are set free when the control area lets go. These are still your thoughts and memories but they are controled by other lesser control centers which cannot process the information in ways we are used to while awake. Some may speculate that your brain is still processing past memories and future desires in your sleep which are manifested in your dreams. It may be manifestations of the subliminal mind which has your own best interests at heart.

Suppose you secretly wanted to write music, but then in your sleep, your music center is allowed to compose or control your driving to work using music in a dream. Dreamlike like diving to places similar to the Beatles' "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds". It may make no sense in the waking world but it is you inner desires allowed to surface without control. You get out side the box answers.

I anticipated such an answer...

While nothing is wrong with what you say in your reply, I want to point out that the BRAIN and the MIND are not the same thing. The way I look at it, we all have our own individual, separate brains, but at the most fundamental level, there is only ONE MIND. This is why remote viewing is possible.

And astral projection and OBE's have proven to us that we can retain our consciousness even without the aid of our physical bodies. But in a way we are both saying the same thing: there is far more to us than we're aware of. So neither of us has really proven or disproven the other. But how can these voices tell me so much about things that haven't happened yet?

Another mind-boggler: Some of these messages which I referred to above have come to me in different languages, languages which I am incapable of speaking or understanding...What's up with that?
The John Lennon song #9 DREAM contained a wierd phrase repeated in the chorus, "Ah! böwakawa poussé, poussé", which came to Lennon in a dream and has no specific meaning.

And as for the part of your comment about music: I am actually a very accomplished musician, but during these dream states, sometimes I become a bit lucid DURING the music that I hear, and I can control that as well...It takes me quite some time to work out music while I am awake, but during dreaming I can create an entire composition with a wave of my hand. It's incredibly fun, but unfortunately it's hard to remember the music, and the sounds quickly fade from memory as I wake up and try to run to my recording equipment!
