Site Issues/Feedback

I seem to be getting an unusual amount of email notifications concerning updated threads.
Though this has occurred from time to time in the past, I have gotten 3 in the last three days concerning threads that don't have any changes.
I suppose I could disable the email notifications and just subscribe to individual thread comments through google reader...
Any thoughts?

Thanks for the heads-up. I thought it may have been something along those lines.

Just another example of all the behind-the-scenes work you do that we never see. Thanks.

Looney...

So, here's the deal. The notifications go out when a comment is submitted to a forum thread. But for "untrusted" users, their comments aren't visible until I approve them. So... for any "spam"-ish comments, that I delete rather than approve, you get a notification but the comment never appears.

Unfortunately, that's a "bug" in the code... I don't know if it's fixed in the newer version (which I'm still working on moving to).

So... the reason you're getting a lot of "bogus" notifications is because the site is currently getting a lot of spam postings, which I am in turn deleting. We can only hope that they'll stop at some point. If it does get to be too much, I'll have to turn off anonymous comments again... which I was hoping not to do, because everyone once in a while, that's how one of our lurkers steps out of the shadows...

peace,
