High, Guys

Well, I haven't posted in a while, so I thought I'd share a few things with you. My "rougues gallery" of syncs is now at eighteen if you can believe it. Author R. Gary Patterson is lining up national and international radio programs on which I'll appear as his guest (knock wood) beginning in the next couple of weeks. What's on my timeline now? "The Butterfly Effect" and Staind's "Break The Cycle", and it's awesome. Oh, and I finally got around to writing a press release which I've already sent out to a couple hundred places.

Apparently BoingBoing thinks it's just way too cool for them, but I did hear back from SKUNK magazine and they want to do a full spread!

So, submitted for your reading enjoyment, here's the press release...

--- FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE ---

ROLLING STONE NAMES DEVILLE "KING OF THE STONER ROCK MOVIES"

07-25-2008 Atlanta, GA - Earlier this year, just in time for 4/20, Rolling Stone discovered an artist, known as "The DeVille", who combines classic rock albums with classic movies. It has long been known that eerie synchronicities exist between MGM's "The Wizard Of Oz" and Pink Floyd's "The Dark Side Of The Moon", and The DeVille’s mix is regarded world wide as the very best, with the most precise synchronization. But that was only the beginning…

Since his original 1999 mash-up, "The Dark Side Of Oz", The DeVille has perfected the art form. At his web site, www.SyncMovies.com, you will find such compelling combinations as "Night Of The Living Zombie" (Rob Zombie’s "Hellbilly Deluxe" meets George A. Romero‘s "Night Of The Living Dead"), "Fellowship Of The IV" (Peter Jackson’s "Fellowship Of The Ring" meets Led Zeppelin’s "IV"), and "Nevermind The Memento" (Nirvana’s "Nevermind" meets Christopher Nolan’s "Memento").

"Sometimes it’s the movie first, sometimes it’s one line in a song - whether a conversation or a dream, synchronicity is my constant source of inspiration", says The DeVille. "Psychologist Carl Jung defined this phenomenon, but that really doesn’t explain it. You can only experience it."

The DeVille’s gallery currently contains eighteen completed multimedia masterworks. "The DeVille is the man, watch his movies if you dare!", declares Rolling Stone editor Evan Schlansky. In his article "Meet The King Of Stoner Rock Movies", Mr. Schlansky praises The DeVille‘s collection calling "Fellowship Of The IV", "The one sync to rule them all!" Renowned rock historian R. Gary Patterson, author of "Tales From The Darkside: Rock & Roll Myths, Legends And Curses", simply states, "They’re the best Christmas present I ever got!"

Despite the resistance of most major media labels, the devout mash-up audience continues to grow worldwide via the internet, disco raves and that most powerful marketing instrument: word of mouth. Syncs by The DeVille have been showcased in venues around the world, from theaters and clubs to planetariums and television. "I currently have fifty two additional mash-ups in various stages of development", The DeVille revealed. "My muse won’t let me rest".
